Canterbury combinations won the men's and women's pairs titles at the inaugural New Zealand national club championships in Christchurch yesterday.
Beckenham's Jan Khan, who also won the singles crown on Sunday, and her lead Julie Dalley were one of three teams going into the last round on three victories.
But Khan was the only one to add to her tally, with a 20-9 win over Moerewa's Lovey Rihari and Myrene King.
The closest challengers, overnight leaders Missy Fitzgerald and Mere Eden, of Ngongotaha, and Waimate's Diane Baty and Mata Frankum, both lost their final matches, leaving Khan a clear winner.
In the men's event Andrew Curtain, with Hornby Domain clubmate Colin Lowery, held a strong position after round four, making the final round unnecessary.
They had added a 29-10 win over Scott Negri and Trevor Pascoe of Greymouth club Blaketown to their overnight three wins.
That left them in an unassailable position after four rounds, so the fifth round was not played.
Nearest challengers Kevin Maxfield and David Bennett, of Mt Maunganui, who had three wins on Sunday, slipped up when losing 24-11 to Alton's Tony Koubaridis and Bruce Phillips.
