KEY POINTS:
Manawatu bowler Terry Johnson has narrowly missed out on a place in the third round of the world indoor bowls singles in Norfolk, England. It looked like Johnson had done enough to make the next round until a brilliant last bowl from English 10th seed Ian Bond denied him. The game lasted well over two hours with Bond eventually snatching victory 6-9, 10-6, 2-1.
Auckland's Linda Ralph will team up with new provisional world number one Paul Foster of Scotland to play English duo Debbie Stavrou and Andy Thompson in the quarter-finals of the mixed pairs. Then Desire Lambert, Johnson's clubmate from the Northern Club in Manawatu, will play in the first round of the singles.
