Kiwi Mike Kernaghan remains in contention for the Asia Pacific men's singles bowls championship despite a loss to Canada's Ryan Bester in Christchurch today/yesterday.
Kernaghan lost his morning clash 21-15 to Bester but bounced back with a 23-10 win over his American opponent in the afternoon. If he can beat his Singapore and Norfolk Island opponents tomorrow/today he will finish top of his section and advance to the semi-finals.
But a loss to either will open the door for Bester to top the section.
It was a good day for the New Zealanders with all competitors remaining in the frame for semi-finals appearances.
