New Zealand bowls international Richard Girvan has his eyes on the Helensvale grand prix singles title after making the semifinal stages yesterday.
Girvan, who has won the pairs title, beat Australia's Shane Globits in the quarterfinal 8-9 9-4 2-1.
He now faces Commonwealth Games triples gold medallist Wayne Turley in the first semifinal.
The other semifinal is between Tasmanian Mark Strochnetter and former Queensland singles champion Anthony Kiepe.
