Finishing fourth at the Asia-Pacific championships in his debut for the New Zealand bowls team was not good enough for Ali Forsyth to make the team for the Commonwealth Games.
Forsyth, of Nelson, was a surprise omission from the six-man team named for the Games in Melbourne in March.
He was the only change from the side who played at the Asia-Pacific championships in Melbourne two weeks ago.
Russell Meyer has gone back to the singles position he filled at the world championships in Scotland last year and Jamie Hill has come into the triple for Meyer.
There is one change in the women's team from the Asia-Pacific championships and some positional switches.
Jessie Ann Law has lost her place in the triple and is replaced by Aucklander Serena Matthews. The Khan sisters, Jan and Marina, who were in the triple in Melbourne, will play the pair, and Sharon Sims and Val Smith have moved from the pair to the triple.
The men's triple that won gold and was unbeaten at the Asia-Pacific championships has been retained for the Games. It is Gary Lawson (skip), Justin Goodwin and Richard Girvan.
