North Harbour's Lisa Dickson was beaten in the World Cup singles semifinals in Hong Kong.
She went down 6-6, 5-10 to Fiji's Litia Tikoisuva for the second time in the tournament.
Earlier in the day, Dickson beat Milagros Witheridge (Philippines) in straight sets in the quarter-finals.
Hong Kong's Grace Chu took the women's title, beating Tikoisuva 8-7, 6-8, 2-1.
Terry Johnson, of Manawatu, ended his men's campaign with a 7-7, 4-9 loss in the playoff for fifth against Canada's Nick Watkins. Australian Mark Casey won the men's title.
