KEY POINTS:
Alan Dickson and Audrey Stevenson have tough acts to follow when the world singles champion of champions bowls event starts in Christchurch on Saturday.
Ali Forsyth, whom Dickson beat in the national singles final in January to qualify for the champions tournament, won the world champion of champions title two years ago while Sharon Sims claimed the silver medal last year.
Dickson, 38, of the Castlecliff club in Wanganui, said he was looking forward to matching his talents against bowlers from all corners of the globe. His opening day matches are against Geoff Savident, of Guernsey, and Keith Vaughan Jones, of Spain.
Stevenson, 58, of the Raumati South club on the Kapiti Coast, twice made it to the last 16 in the national singles before outgunning Lois Ritson in last season's final.
Like Dickson, she is relishing the challenge ahead of her with first-day opponents being Sainiana Walker, of Fiji, and Pauline Hooper, of Spain.
