Seamus Curtin from Stokes Valley and Paris Baker from the Te Atatu are the Bowls New Zealand under 18 champions for 2016.
Baker reached the final of the women's under 18 event after coming through section play unbeaten, but she faced some pressure in her final game when playing against Australian Natasha Russell.
Baker took an early lead to be ahead 16-5 after eight ends. However Russell wasn't prepared to concede and with some determined play closed the gap to 19-18 at the 20th end, but Baker picked up a two off the 21st end to take the game 21-18.
A calm Curtin held the lead for his entire game against fellow Wellingtonian Bradley Down.
Curtin dominated from the beginning and was 7-0 up after three ends. Down picked up a four in the next end before Curtin accelerated away to take the game and the trophy 21-6.
To reach the finals Down played Leighton Shanks, while Curtin was pitted against Caleb Hope. Both finalist had to work hard to win the top spot.
