Bowls: Bowls pair success on Gold Coast

New Zealanders Jo Edwards and Marlene Castle won the A$30,000 ($36,290) Kingscliff Classic bowls pairs title for the second successive year on Queensland's Gold Coast yesterday.

They beat Australians Julie Keegan and Karen Murphy 19-15, winning by the same margin as they did over the same combination in last year's final.

The scores were tied at 15-15 after 18 ends, but Edwards, the skip, and Castle edged ahead in the final stages to lead by three going into the final end.
