Have you ever wondered how rugby is perceived in Bollywood?
Well wonder no more. Highlights from the 2004 hit Indian film Sye have gone viral after a social media user on Reddit rediscovered the footage and posted it on YouTube. The rugby scenes have to be seen to
be believed.
The film, which has a rating of 7.4 on the Internet Movie Data Base, features an incredible depiction of on-field violence, thuggery, red-card offenses and terrible technique.
IMDB described the synopsis of the film as: "College students form a Rugby team and play against a violent gang of thugs to get back their college land."
The graphic on-field violence includes a player being held down by five member of the opposition while another opponent produces a running Kung-Fu kick aimed at his genitals. Yes, really.
