New Zealand riders started the BMX world championships at Auckland's Vector Arena in style, winning three world titles in 30 minutes this afternoon.
Maia Coleman-Savage opened with a win in the girl's 10-year-old category and it was followed by a win for Jessie Smith from Gisborne in the girl's 12 years category and Cailen Calkin in the boy's 12 years event. Ryan Martin, who is racing for Great Britain but hails from Cambridge, New Zealand, won the boy's 11 years race.
The world championships run through until Sunday afternoon when the elite finals are held.
