Black Sticks defender James Nation has announced his retirement from the New Zealand hockey team.
Nation, 33, debuted for New Zealand in 2003 and accumulated 105 caps over the next six years.
National coach Shane McLeod said Nation had made a "huge commitment" to New Zealand hockey.
"He's been an A student in regard to keeping his body in excellent condition, as well as being a great role model for young players."
Nation's retirement comes a day after defender Hayden Shaw announced he was pulling out of next year's hockey World Cup in India.
Shaw said he was taking a few months out of the game, but had no plans of drawing his international career to a close.
Next year is a busy one for the Black Sticks, with the World Cup in February-March, the Champions Trophy in August and the Commonwealth Games in October.
