New Zealand men's hockey team have been drawn in the same pool as world and Olympic champions Germany at the World Cup, to be played in India in February.
Fresh from winning the Champions Challenge in Argentina at the weekend, New Zealand were overnight drawn with Germany, the Netherlands, Korea, Canada and Argentina in World Cup pool play.
Germany are ranked world No 1, with the Netherlands 4, Korea 5, New Zealand 8, Canada 11 and Argentina 14.
Hosts India are placed in Pool B, together with Australia, Spain, England, Pakistan, India and South Africa.
The best two ranked teams in each pool make the semifinals.
