The Tall Ferns were no match for world champions Australia when they went down 52-99 in the William Jones Cup women's basketball tournament in Taiwan today.
After holding their own in the first half, New Zealand were overwhelmed in the second when they were restricted to just 19 points.
Forward Natalie Porter led the Australians in scoring with 18 points while University of Oregon guard Mikaela Cocks shone for the Tall Ferns to score 15 points.
The New Zealanders beat Taiwan White 51-50 in their opening match.
