The Tall Ferns women's basketball team have scored a major coup.
The Ferns have confirmed an international series against Cuba.
They will play three games against the full Cuban team, as well as two games against the Cuban junior team.
Tall Ferns coach Mike McHugh says a member of Basketball NZ bumped into the Cuban delegate at a recent international meeting, teeing up an invitation.
He says there is a fair amount of paperwork to wade through first to gain entry as a sports team into Cuba.
The Tall Ferns have a camp this weekend in Auckland, with the Games team and Cuba tour squad confirmed next week
