Tall Blacks: Former coach stands in the way

The man who led the Tall Blacks to their greatest international basketball triumph is about to become one of New Zealand's biggest enemies.

Teams are gathering in Turkey ahead of the start of the world champs this weekend, with New Zealand to open its campaign against Lithuania.

However a match against the Tab Baldwin-coached Lebanon side early next week looms as vital to the side's chances.

Coach Nenad Vucinic says he has a very tight relationship with Baldwin.

Vucinic says he speaks to Baldwin every day and they are lifelong friends.

The Tall Blacks will also play world champions Spain, Canada and France in group play.
