Basketball: Tall Blacks outclassed by Brazil

The Tall Blacks have been thumped 105-89 by Brazil in the opening game of their four-game basketball series in Rio de Janeiro this morning.

The scores were level at 20-all at the end of the first quarter, but Brazil led 47-39 at half-time.

Kirk Penney top scored for New Zealand with 28 points, while Craig Bradshaw scored 18 and Pero Cameron added 12.

The second international is in Brasilia on Thursday.
