Basketball: Tall Blacks lose to Jordan

New Zealand have lost 65-62 to Jordan in their final game at the World Cup basketball tournament in Zadar, Croatia this morning (NZT).

New Zealand had possession in the last minute of the game but couldn't gain the lead after being down 62-64 before Jordan gained one more point to seal the victory.

Kirk Penney top scored for New Zealand with 17 points which Jordan's naturalised American, Sam Dahlas matched.

The Tall Blacks now head to Turkey for the world championships from August 28-September 12.

They open with a match against Lithuania on August 28 in Izmir.

Score: Jordan 65 (Sam Dahlas 17) New Zealand 62 (Kirk Penney 17).
