KEY POINTS:
Tall Blacks guard Lindsay Tait has signed to play for Wollongong in the Australian National Basketball League (ANBL) for the next three years.
Tait has been in dominant form in the domestic National Basketball League this season, averaging 35 points a game for Auckland.
"I'm happy to welcome Lindsay to the club. He has been one of our key targets this off-season. He will be a major contributor this season and into the future," Wollongong Hawks coach Eric Cooks said.
"He has the ability to play point guard or shooting guard positions, can knock down the open shot, he's quick to the basket and brings a high level of maturity at such a young age."
The New Zealand international played three seasons in the ANBL with the New Zealand Breakers from 2003-2006.
After sustaining a wrist injury in early 2006 Tait accepted an offer to play in Switzerland.
"I'm excited about coming to Wollongong and playing at a high level, it's great to be back in the ANBL," Tait said.
"The opportunity to play for one of the ANBL foundation teams is great."
