This time, Webster played 31 minutes, and he was the standout performer in them, showing his abilities as an international-class scorer with 30 points (and six assists) on a nice 6/9 shooting from deep.
Webster says he rode his hot streak and kept looking for his shot.
"I'm a shooter, that's what I do, you have your off days, you have your good days. I got a bit of confidence from making my first couple shots, and from there I stayed aggressive.
"The Korean defence was tough, they get up and in and they're quick players, but we knew we had to step up our focus and our aggressiveness."
He combined with Rob Loe for the Tall Blacks' first 15 points, as the Kiwis took a while to get going against the scrappy Korean side.
Led by naturalised big man Ricardo Rattlife (29 points and 11 rebounds), South Korea took advantage of some sloppy defence early by the Tall Blacks, taking a 33-23 lead. With New Zealand struggling slightly in transition, the skilled hosts were finding the open man, but it was only a matter of time for the game to tighten up again, with Webster leading the fightback as the Tall Blacks hit the front by halftime, 49-48.
After the interval, the Tall Blacks ramped up their defensive intensity. The fullcourt pressure that proved problematic for China returned, and Korea could only muster three points in five minutes as the Tall Blacks built a sizeable buffer.
Tall Blacks coach Paul Henare pinpointed the second half defensive surge as a key to the win.
"I thought after halftime we defended really well, our pressure was able to force a couple of turnovers in that second half."
Webster continued to create space and knock down jumpers, and his two-man game with Isaac Fotu was flowing. Fotu was working well rolling to the basket, stepping up in the second half to record 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as the Tall Blacks pulled away, winning the third quarter 23-13.
Fotu helped graft the Tall Blacks a 45-34 rebounding edge, as did Alex Pledger, who struggled at times to finish inside, but used his size to make up for it, devouring the offensive glass to finish with 12 points and 10 boards.
The pair were required to finish the game after Finn Delany was involved in a grim head clash with Lee Jung-Hyun which left both players bleeding, and while Korea kept things relatively close, they never looked like coming back, as the Tall Blacks completed a successful road trip.
"I was proud of the boys, how we turned up," said Webster.
"Back in Wellington, we were a little bit disappointed with our performance, and we knew we had to step it up tonight. Everyone stepped up and it was a solid all-round performance."
The Tall Blacks now move to 3-1 for their qualifying campaign, with points carrying over to the second stage, which they have now officially qualified for. With the next stage seeing them having to play the likes of Jordan, Lebanon and Syria – worse sides than China and South Korea - qualification for the World Cup looks increasingly simple.
Before that though, they have two games remaining – playing minnows Hong Kong on June 28 in Rotorua, before taking on China in Auckland on July 1.
