Tall Blacks guard Tai Webster helped the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers pull off an impressive first-half comeback but it was all in vain in their NCAA Big Ten Conference loss to the Northwestern Wildcats this morning.
Webster sank a three-pointer on the half-time buzzer to cap off a 14-0 run for Nebraska, turning a 10-point deficit with just over two minutes remaining in the half into a 37-33 lead.
However the Wildcats found their composure in the second half to win the clash 74-66, handing Webster's Cornhuskers their seventh defeat of the season.
Webster, playing his senior season at Nebraska, finished with a game high 17 points. He also had six rebounds, three assists and two steals in the defeat.
Webster has had a strong start to the season to date, leading the 9-7 Cornhuskers in scoring with an average 17.7 per game and assists at 4.1 per game.
