Most professional basketball players look to their coach for wisdom, inspiration and direction.
But in the Russian basketball league, Unics Kazan have taken the role of a supportive coach to the next level.
In their match against Spartak Vladivostok last weekend, Unics' sideline coach Gundars Vetra was mistaken for a player and was passed the ball in mid-attack by the point guard.
Without wasting anytime, Vetra quickly passed the ball on to another Unics player, who drained a three pointer from out wide.
Unfortunately the points did not count, but the Unics did go onto win 70-69.
