The New Zealand Breakers are the team to beat in the Hungry Jacks NBL as they extended their winning streak to eight with thrilling six point win over reigning Champions the Perth Wildcats at Perth Arena.
It made it two wins in four days for the Breakers over the Wildcats and consolidated their position on top of the NBL Ladder after six rounds.
In front of another huge crowd of 13,523 fans, New Zealand were clearly in enemy territory but put in a consummate team performance to win 88-82.
Breakers stars DJ Newbill (20 points) Alex Pledger (15 points, 8 rebounds) and Shea Ili (11 points, 5 rebounds) led the Breakers to victory in what has been their best ever start to a season.
Wildcats Jean-Pierre Tokoto had a career-best 30 points and 7 rebounds. His dominance throughout the game kept his team in the contest. Bryce Cotton (19 points) fired up in the fourth quarter but was too late to stop the Breakers.
