NBA: Stocks run out for Dwayne Wade's 'Miami Vice' jersey following his return

Dwayne Wade, Miami's prodigal son, has returned to the Heat.

In one of the league's biggest homecomings since LeBron James' return to the Cleveland Cavaliers the Heat's fan base has gone wild.

So much so that Wade's edition of the "Miami Vice" City jerseys were sold-out in less than 24 hours.

Replicas of Wade's pink, black and powder blue jersey received orders from all over the world ESPN's Darren Rovell said.

Rovell tweeted that the Heat soon received orders from over 100 countries worldwide with merchandise sales up 8000% from the previous two days.

It was reported that following their game against the Milwaukee Bucks yesterday that the jerseys made up to 86% if all retail sales at the game and they were forced out of stock.

Team CMO Michael McCullough said the franchise was working as fast as they could to increase their stock.

Wade returned to the Miami Heat after being traded from Cleveland for a second round pick.

He returned after leaving the south-eastern franchise in 2016 for the Chicago Bulls before moving to Cleveland with former Championship teammate James.

Wade started the game on the bench yesterday before being subbed into the game part way through the first quarter and received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Notching up 22 minutes in his anticipated return to Miami, the NBA veteran recorded three points, two blocks, two rebounds and two assists.

His efforts helped in Miami claiming victory over the Bucks winning 91-85 and finishing off the Heat's five-game losing streak.

Wade is the Heat's franchise all-time leader in points, games, assists and steals, shots made and shots taken.

After being drafted to Miami in 2003, Wade played 13 seasons with the Heat - winning three NBA championships - and appeared in 12 All-Star games.
