NBA: Steven Adams gets double-double in loss

Steven Adams performed strongly for his side but couldn't stop the Sacramento Kings ending the Oklahoma Thunder's four-game winning streak in the NBA.

The Kings won the clash 116-104 but after a couple of quiet games following his explosive start to the season, Adams bounced back to his best with a strong contribution which included 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The Thunder (24-11 for the season) looked to have early control of the game at the Thunderdome but the Kings made a huge run in the second period to build an eight-point lead midway through the second quarter.

DeMarcus Cousins scored a game-high 33 points to lead Sacramento to victory.

Cousins shot 11-of-27 from the field to go along with 19 rebounds while Marco Belinelli came off the bench to score 21 points.

Serge Ibaka led the Thunder, who played without Kevin Durant, with 25 points and seven rebounds. Forward Anthony Morrow added 20 points while guard Russell Westbrook compiled 17 points and 15 assists.

Durant missed the game with a sprained right big toe. His status is day-to-day, but coach Billy Donovan said before the game that he didn't consider the injury serious.

The Thunder's next game is Thursday NZ time when they host the Grizzlies.
