Tall Blacks point guard Tai Webster is having another shot at the NBA after signing on with the Miami Heat for the upcoming Summer League.
Webster, who will miss this week's World Cup qualifying games against Hong Kong and China, played with the Charlotte Hornets and Golden State Warriors in last year's Summer League.
After those appearances, he signed with the Fraport Skylines in Germany, where he impressed, averaging 14.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, shooting 47 per cent from the field and 40 per cent from deep.
It is understood that former Tall Blacks coach Nenad Vucinic is interested in signing Webster in his new role as head coach of Italian Serie A side Sidigas Avellino, but those discussions will have to wait until after Webster's next appearance on the NBA stage.
The 23-year-old joins a Heat roster which possesses several players with NBA experience, including promising big man Bam Adebayo, former All-Star Slam Dunk finalist Derrick Jones Jr, and guards Rashad Vaughn and Derrick Walton Jr.
