That was all the time OKC guard Russell Westbrook needed to lay the ball up and put his side ahead by one to win the match.
It was a surprisingly quiet game from Adams, who strugged mightily with his shot all match. The big Kiwi, who went into the match with the third-best field goal percentage in the league, could only manage to convert three of his 12 attempts, scoring just six points.
After the match, Thunder coach Billy Donovan told media it was clear Adams was getting frustrated at being unable to score.
"He could've had a huge night tonight. He had a lot of opportunities in front of the rim. I know he was a little bit frustrated with himself...But just the fact that we were regaining extra possessions by him doing that was important."
What he lacked in field goals, Adams made up for in rebounding, pulling down 12 in the first half as the Thunder went into the break down by 12 points.
The Nets were getting plenty of production from their bench in the first half, and it continued through the match. Back-up swingman Joe Harris was hot all game, finishing with 19 points and connecting on all five of his attempts from three-point range.
In the second half, the Thunder's bench followed suit, with Raymond Felton leading the comeback charge.
Alongside Felton, Westbrook and George found their stroke and put the team on their shoulders to close out the win. Westbrook finished with 32 points while George added 28 and Felton had 14. Adams finished with 14 rebounds (nine offensive) to go with his six points.
The Thunder now get a day off before hosting the Washington Wizards and their recently named All-Star backcourt duo Bradley Beal and John Wall in Oklahoma on Friday.
