NBA security beefed up following Osama death

Hand held metal detectors will be used to screen all fans attending the remaining matches in the NBA playoffs.

The NBA has issued the mandate following the death of Osama bin Laden.

The first two playoffs game affected are today's opening games of the semifinal series between Chicago and Atlanta and the LA Lakers and Dallas.

It's understood other major sporting events in the US, mainly the NHL playoffs and regular season baseballs game, will also be beefing up security.
