The New Zealand Breakers remain a united side in the face of a string of losses in the Australian National Basketball League (ANBL) and are focused on beating the Adelaide 36ers at home on Thursday night, foundation player Paul Henare says.
The Breakers have not won since before last Christmas and have been handing games over to their opposition in fourth quarter slumps.
After 22 matches, the Breakers have just nine wins and are seventh in the eight-team competition.
"We have spoken about it as a team and right now our total focus is on Thursday, it is a big game and one we must win to move up the ladder against another team in a similar situation to us," Henare said today.
"It's been a great week of training, starting on Saturday we have come in worked hard and got after it with the right attitude.
"I've been involved in teams that have struggled or gone through slumps but this team has great unity despite our run of late.
"Everyone is bitterly disappointed with where we are at this season but there is no finger pointing or blaming of others, it is about each one of us taking responsibility for our role within the team and working hard to put it right."
He believed the team were close to getting a vital win that would lift confidence for the remainder of the season.
