Sharpshooter Kirk Penney has won his second consecutive Australian National Basketball League (ANBL) player of the week award after leading the New Zealand Breakers to a sweep of their road-double in last week's round 10.
Penney, who also took out the weekly award in round nine, was a standout for the Breakers in his team's defeats of the Wollongong Hawks and Melbourne Tigers.
The shooting guard averaged 23.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals for the round. He had 48.5 percent accuracy from the field, 50 percent from the perimeter and 77.8 percent from the free throw line.
In a top-of-the-table clash with the Hawks on Friday night, Penney scored 22 points, and had four rebounds, three assists and two steals as the Breakers snapped Wollongong's 15-game home winning streak with an 89-85 victory that vaulted them to the top of the table.
Penney and the Breakers then backed up 24 hours later with a second road win, this time over the Melbourne Tigers, 90-80. Penney again was a leading light for New Zealand with a game-high 25 points.
