New Zealand Breakers guard Cedric Jackson has been named the National Basketball League's Player of the Week for round six of the NBL Championship after leading his side to a rare sweep of the infamous 'Sunshine Swing' road trip to north Queensland.
Jackson was superb for the Breakers, averaging 17.0 points, 11.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 3.5 rebounds for the week as New Zealand became the first club to sweep their pair of road games against the Cairns Taipans and Townsville Crocodiles since February 2007.
The 191cm American guard started the round with 14 points, 11 assists, four rebounds and two steals in the Breakers 81-72 victory over Townsville on Friday night.
Jackson then backed up 24 hours later with 20 points, 12 assists, three rebounds and two steals as the Breakers routed the Taipans with a 73-54 win.
He became the first player in the NBL to have double-figure assists on consecutive nights since Derek Rucker for Townsville in April 1998.
