The Breakers expect to have injured forward Will Hudson back on court before the playoffs and have targeted the match against Cairns on March 7 for his return.
Scans have revealed the American import tore the medial collateral ligament of the left knee during the overtime defeat of Sydney last Saturday night, which carries a recovery time of four to six weeks. Physio Anousith Bouaaphone said they hoped Hudson would return at the early stage of this timeframe, meaning he could be ready to play Cairns on March 7 or Melbourne on March 10.
The Breakers, who are on an 11-game winning streak, take on Wollongong at a sold-out North Shore Events Centre on Friday night.
