KEY POINTS:
The return of two former players has boosted the New Zealand breakers squad ahead of the upcoming Australian NBL season.
The Breakers have confirmed the signings of Tall Blacks guards Phill Jones and Paora Winitana, on two year and one year deals respectively.
The pair will join fellow New Zealanders Paul Henare, Mika Vukona and Kirk Penney at the club.
Coach Andrej Lemanis is thrilled with his new recruits.
Lemanis said Jones in particular has been a strong performer over a number of years and has experience to burn.
He said Jones can get very hot and score a lot of points very quickly and has also played well in Italy over the last couple of seasons, mixing it with some great players.
Jones played for the Breakers in their first season back in 2003-2004 but left to take up a contract overseas.
Winitana also played for the Breakers in their inaugural season, but has recently been plying his trade for the Bay Hawks in the New Zealand NBL.
The New Zealand Breakers first match of the new ANBL season is against the Cairns Taipans on September 20.
