Shooting guard Daryl Corletto was named NBL Player of the Week for his sharp-shooting as the Breakers continued on their winning ways.
Corletto scored 22 points in his side's convincing 95-76 victory over the Sydney Kings last Thursday night. He scored first 14 points, including four three-pointers in four minutes, and shot six out of eight three-pointers and eight of 11 from the field.
"Daryl's been busting his arse over the last few weeks putting in extra work," coach Andrej Lemanis said after the game. "When you see that, there's no surprise he comes in and shoots six of eight from the three-point line."
Corletto then added another 11 points in Saturday's 91-74 road win over Wollongong, which saw the Breakers set a new club record of nine consecutive wins.
That winning run will face a stern examination on Friday when the Breakers (17-3) host the second-placed Perth (13-4) in a crucial match at Vector Arena. Interest in the game is so high the club have put 700 more tickets on sale for the game, bringing the capacity of Vector Arena up to 9200.
