Power forward BJ Anthony has been released from his contract with the Australian basketball league champion SkyCity Breakers.
Anthony's release is because of a surplus of talent in the position, with Mika Vukona signing a new contract at the club for three years, while Dillon Boucher is close to re-committing his future there too.
The Breakers say they've made the decision now to give Anthony the best chance of finding a new club ahead of the free agent period which expires on Tuesday.
Coach Andrej Lemanis says Anthony deserves the chance to show his worth and that's why they've let him go for the 2012/2013 season.
