The New Zealand Breakers' hopes of making the ANBL playoffs have been given a huge boost after the Cairns Taipans took down the Adelaide 36ers last night.
The Breakers are locked in a battle with Adelaide for the fourth and final playoff spot, and will have a chance to catch them thanks to the Taipans' 95-89 victory home victory.
Veteran Mark Worthington had 24 points while guard Cam Gliddon added 19 as the Taipans continued their strong home form, playing havoc with the playoff race after previously beating the Breakers.
Adelaide continued to miss MVP frontrunner Jerome Randle to injury, with the latest loss dropping them to a 14-12 record.
The Breakers hold a 13-12 mark and get to play Cairns at home tomorrow, where a win will leapfrog them back into the playoff picture, as the defending champions hold the tiebreaker on the 36ers.
