Basketball: Breakers move to North Shore

The Breakers basketball team are moving back across the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

The ANBL franchise has confirmed they are returning to the North Shore Events Centre for all but one home game in the upcoming season.

Breakers General Manager Richard Clarke says it is part of strategic manoeuvring, which includes the shift to mid-week fixtures.

Clarke says the next part of the strategic direction was to place themselves right in New Zealand's strongest basketball community, which is on the North Shore of Auckland.

Clarke says they still had one year left on their contract at Trusts Stadium in Waitakere but wanted to make the shift now.

Clarke says they will continue to use the Waitakere venue as their training and administration base.
