The Breakers have slipped to a tight loss in basketball's Australian NBL.
They went down 98-95 to the Wollongong Hawks in Wollongong last night, which is their fourth loss on the trot.
The Breakers led 23-20 after the first quarter, but the lead evaporated early in the second quarter, although it was 49-all at the break.
It was another high scoring performance from impressive Breakers import Carlos Powell who grabbed a game high 35 points and 11 rebounds, while Brian Wethers hit 23 but fouled out with five minutes to play.
Hawk Tony Rampton, a New Zealander, did a lot of second half damage to his countrymen, scoring 14 of his 20 points after the break and adding 12 rebounds, dominating the battle in the paint.
