Basketball: Breakers look to honesty to fix pre-season slump

The Breakers are counting on honesty within the group to help them out of a pre-season slump.

They're yet to win after five pre season games and have shown frailties without injured guards Kirk Penney and Corey Webster.

Assistant coach Judd Flavell says players have been accountable for their poor performances which is important going forward.

Flavell says they're still getting used to each other as a team and are slightly underdone but aren't in crisis mode yet.

The Breakers are confident there won't be a race against time for Penney and Webster to be fit for their ANBL season opener.

Both players have sat out the majority of their pre-season games with differing injuries which has tested the Breakers depth.

Flavell says Penney's calf is coming along fine and they are conscious of not rushing either player back too soon.

Flavell thinks Webster is a different case with his back injury so just needs to rest but both will be fine come the start of the season.
