The Breakers continue to push for an Australian NBL playoff spot after a 91-86 away win over the Townsville Crocs.
It is the third win in a row for the Breakers and Kirk Penney with 20 points, Oscar Forman 19 and CJ Bruton 14 caused the damage for the visitors who pulled clear in the final quarter.
The Breakers led 68-65 at the end of third quarter.
The win means Melbourne, which sent Adelaide to its fourth consecutive loss in the other clash, 95-85, remains one win behind the Breakers in sixth spot.
The Crocs have dropped into third spot below Perth and Gold Coast, while Wollongong rounds out the top four.
