The New Zealand Breakers have been dealt an early schedule change a week into the 2005/06 Australian National Basketball League (ANBL) season.
The Breakers' away game against the Wollongong Hawks was brought forward a day to Thursday September 8.
They open their season against the Cairns Taipans in Auckland on Sunday.
The ANBL confirmed the alteration today after Wollongong requested the change to avoid clashing with a major local sports event.
High flying National Rugby League club St George-Illawarra could possibly host a match in the opening week of the finals on September 9 depending on the outcome of this weekend's final pool games.
The move will give the Breakers an extra day to prepare for their third match against West Sydney on Saturday.
