The New Zealand Breakers fell to the less-fancied Wollongong Hawks 94-88 at the Australian National Basketball League (ANBL) pre-season tournament in Darwin last night.
Guard Kirk Penney led the Breakers scorers with 20 points and pulled in 10 rebounds while Thomas Abercrombie had 16 points.
The game was billed as the `tournament final' after the Breakers had posted victories over the Townsville Crocodiles and Adelaide 36ers in their first two games.
