If the weary Breakers needed a pick-me-up when they arrived back in New Zealand last night after their Australian National Basketball League finals loss less than 24 hours before, the public hype over a series decider would have done it.
The Breakers lost game two of the best-of-three finals 87-86 in Perth in the early hours of yesterday morning, but news a decider would be needed at Auckland's Vector Arena on Tuesday night brought a phenomenal response, with the 9125 tickets selling out in under an hour after going on sale at 9am.
The Breakers landed in Auckland just before 10 last night, confident they could rebound from yesterday's heart-breaker, where star guard CJ Bruton had a lay-up rejected on the buzzer as they went down.
The team will have a recovery day with massage sessions planned today to get them back in shape, with a team practice scheduled for tomorrow at Atlas Place.
