The Breakers management team admits not all members of the current squad are up to playing in the tough Australian National Basketball League.
The Breakers have slumped to 11 defeats in a row, with players in and out all season due to injury and form, which has meant replacements and reinforcements being called in.
Board chairman Burton Shipley says without trying to make excuses, the constant changing has not helped, with some more inexperienced players having court time.
Shipley says some players have struggled at this level, which is a major concern, with others playing extremely well.
He says he is sick of New Zealand coaches being ripped apart, stating that coach Andrej Lemanis has the full support of the board, and they are happy with the progress he is making.
Shipley says they are not worried about the team's immediate or long term future, with a three to five year time frame in place to score results.
Lemanis is included in those plans, with Shipley saying that they can not win every game, straight off the bat.
Shipley likens the team to some of the country's best, such as the Crusaders and the current Auckland rugby team, who have gone through awful patches, before becoming strong.
