The Breakers have opened their pre-season training but with a smaller squad. Two American imports are still to arrive, Aaron Olson and Tait are still with Auckland and Paul Henare and A. J. Majstrovich are with the Hawks until Friday's NBL decider.
The Harbour Heat's Brent Charleton has been taken on as a development player.

Breakers coach Andrej Lemanis has been pleased with the level of competitiveness in the local league as a stepping stone into the Australian professional game.
The offences work hard. Defensive intensity is an area that could improve, he said, but one team that impressed him in that area was the Heat.
