The Breakers added another piece to the roster jigsaw for the coming Australian National Basketball League season by signing Australian combo-guard Rhys Carter on a one-year deal.
The 30-year-old Carter brings a vast array of experience from leagues around the world, including stints in Europe, and in the ANBL with the South Dragons, Perth Wildcats and at the end of last season the Adelaide 36ers. Breakers head coach Dean Vickerman had no doubt he got the right player for the right fit as the club announced the acquisition yesterday.
"We were always looking for a combo back-up guard capable of playing the 'one' spot and is a threat from the perimeter as well," he said.
"Rhys fits that description, he is experienced and at 30 years old he has been a pro for 10 years and has been on very good teams.
"There is an x-factor about him, he has the ability to make a defensive play or hit a big shot."
