SALT LAKE CITY - Australian centre Andrew Bogut declared himself eligible for the National Basketball Association (NBA) draft at a press conference here today.
Bogut, a seven-foot (2.13m) sophomore, was named a finalist for the Naismith College Player of the Year after averaging 20.4 points and 12.4 rebounds for the Utes this season.
He led Utah to the Sweet 16 for the first time in seven years, averaging 18.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 2.0 blocks over three games in the NCAA Tournament.
Bogut is considered a possible No 1 overall NBA draft pick.
