The Waikato Titans have signed the man they say will be the best player in New Zealand's NBL for many years.
Mike Chappell - the 2.03m American who has led the way for the Breakers since joining New Zealand's new Australian NBL franchise - will play for the Titans in the New Zealand league, starting in March.
He will replace another Breakers player, Iona Enosa, as the team's overseas import and, according to Waikato Basketball CEO John Davey, will leave the Titans just an Australian import away from completing their starting five.
The Titans lost in the final of last year's NBL after winning two titles in a row, and will have a new coach this year in former assistant Ken Strother.
