American import Ayinde Ubaka has been sacked by the Melbourne Tigers following the NBL club's disappointing 60-73 loss to the Gold Coast Blaze.
Tigers CEO Seamus McPeake reportedly made a post game address to the playing group and then sacked Ubaka on the spot, without the knowledge of coach Trevor Gleeson and captain Tommy Greer who were facing a post game press conference.
Ubaka signed with the Tigers from the Cairns Taipans in the off season and had averaged 12 points a game for the fifth placed Tigers this season.
The New Zealand Breakers host the Tigers this Thursday.
