Basketball: Taranaki win by 3

Taranaki beat the Otago Nuggets 76-73 in their National Basketball League match in New Plymouth tonight.

They led 39-36 at halftime, maintained the three-point cushion at three-quarter time (57-54) and were held 65-65 with 3min 38 sec to go.

A huge late fightback paved the way for their third win in the competition this year.

Taranaki 76 (Willie Banks 23, Lincoln Abrams 22, Mike Foster 12), Otago 73 (Daniel Ryan 20, Hayden Allen 17, Michael Fitchett 17). Halftime: 39-36.
